In the summer of 2019, Mental Health Association for Greater Baton Rouge became the Louisiana affiliate for Mental Health America. Mental Health America and the affiliates is the 6th largest nonprofit in the United States. MHA and MHAGBR are a force for behavioral health advocacy, programming and information across the United States and in our community.

MHA has developed mental health screenings that can be used by inividuals or in group settings. MHAGBR encourages you to utilize these new tools now available.

Like other illnesses, discovering and treating mental illnesses early can help you get better faster. Taking a mental health screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety, are real, common and treatable. And recovery is possible.

MHA currently offers 9 screens: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Psychosis, Eating Disorders, PTSD, Alcohol or Substance Use, and a Youth and Parent screen. Your results from the screen do not serve as a diagnosis, but can let you know if you are at risk or have the symptoms of any of these conditions.

After screening, you will be provided with information, resources and tools to discuss the results with a provider. You can also return to the MHA Greater Baton Rouge site for more information.
